If you are talking about bettas, try one pellet/flake first to see if it is hungry and then drop in 3 or 4 more for it to eat. If it refuses to eat pellets then try flakes vice versa. If it doesn't eat at all then ask your local fish store owner for some help, because, your fish may be sick with pop eye, foggy eye, fin rot or one of the many other betta diseases there are!
