When I started my aquarium, the book I read recommended eight hours of artificial light a day. I put mine on a timer and actually only run it for six hours as the algae was terrible. Bear in mind, mine is a ten gallon fresh water tank, a salt water or living tank may be different.
NO, fish are used to night & day, just like you! Turn it off when you go to bed or put it on a timer. Allow the fish to have some sleep. Light produce heat as a result of which temperature changes which the fish don't like when sleeping.
Also, light disturbs the fish in sleep.
Leave the light on during daylight hours, and turn it off at nightime.
I cleanmine once every week if the light goes out every 4 days
No fish likes direct light. They hunt for other fish, so your lure should either sparkle or jiggle(to look like a wounded fish). Live bait should be very lively where possible
You should be aiming for between 8 and 12 hours. about the same time as the sun is up. this helps with the natural environment of the tank, the plants will grow nicely, there wont be loads of algae everywhere, and your fish will behave more naturally. this can obviously be adjusted to suit when you will be looking at the tank, after all your paying for it :P. I have mine on around 11am-9pm because this is when im most likely to be home! too light can lead to an algae bloom and make your tank go green, if this happens don't leave your tank on for so long. it might also help to keep natural sun light off of the tank. tom :)
a light might be nice but its not expected for the fish to stay alive.
Ideally, never. Fish, especially large fish like tuna, are known to contain heavy metals which can damage your heart and brain. Commercial fishing may leave us with fishless oceans by 2040. And it's horrible for the fish, who die agonizing deaths from suffocation or blunt force injury.
Water in a fish bowl should be changed at least once a week to maintain a healthy environment for the fish.
Fish should be left to defrost in the fridge for approximately 24 hours before cooking to ensure it thaws safely and evenly.
it doesn't it gives the fish nutrients that only the light can give it should only be on 6 hours the max
leave it there. It won't harm your fish.
You should change the water in your fish tank every 1-2 weeks to maintain a healthy environment for your fish.
about once a week
