How soon can you can tell the sex of the baby?

You have to wait until 18 weeks so just over 4 months, anytime before that and the baby's genitalia looks similar. At any point before the 18 weeks the doctor can't tell what gender it is. After the 18 weeks the baby has developed enough that is it safe for the doctor to do an ultra sound and see what gender the baby is. But it is always good to ask how clearly your doctor can tell between the babies genitalia.

It is best to do an ultrasound at 20 weeks. Any time before could likely be too soon. Waiting to long after could result in your baby getting to big and balled up. Therefore, it would be hard to tell with it being in the position it gets in with fast growth after then.

Before your pregnant:: It depends on when you find out that your pregnant, after about 4-5 months you should be able to see. ((That MAY be correct, don't count on that being for sure though)

After you give birth:: It should be obvious at that point. =)
