Yes. If you buy a hand breast pump and frequently extract milk, the amounts should increase. Alternatively you can continue to breast feed and if you are not sure of the amounts the baby is getting, try weighing the infant before and after feeds.

Answer:Start by keeping up your fluids and trying to get baby to breast as often as possible. Remember, milk production is a supply and demand system. Because the demand was down for a couple of days, your supply is down. But if you can trick your body into believing that demand is back up stronger than ever, supply should return. If that doesn't work there is a supplement called Domperidone which is widely available and given to nursing mothers in every country EXCEPT the United States. For some reason, here they use Reglan which has some harsh side effects (like depression and weight gain -- neither of which a nursing mother needs to cope with). However, if you do a little research, you can easily get Domperidone (also called Motilium) and you can find out how to use it by reading Dr Jack Newman's articles. He has some great information as well as instructions for its use. He's a Canadian breastfeeding expert and a Godsend to nursing mothers. Answer:In reference to the first answer, hand pumps are a much harder way to express milk than a electric or battery powered pump. And i personally found it really hard to express a full serving. Also building up your milk supply takes time, so don't stress yourself out about not having enough to fill your baby for the first few days/week as Stress can reduce your milk flow even more. i breast fed twins for four months and i must say it was the most demanding and stressful thing I've ever done in my life - but well worth it!!!
