A grape is considered a berry. But, it has many more similarities to a melon. It has stripe-like veins like a watermelon, it has a less penitrible outer skin than a berry (which in proportion could be an edible rind),and it grows on a vine NOT A BUSH (which berries do). Also, I looked up the definition of a melon, and it said melons are usually a crimson or a deep pink, which grapes are! Just look at the names- strawBERRY, blueBERRY, blackBERRY, raspBERRY- grape. Also, I looked up the science behind melons on wikipedia. It said that melons have a fleshy core (grapes have that much more than berries). It also said the melon genus is Citrullus. Citrullus is latin for desert vines- GRAPES GROW ON VINES! The genus of a creature is the most specific, important part of their realtionship with their kingdom. Therefore, a grape is scientifically a melon- yet it is considered a berry. So if anyone who has read this has the communication: GRAPES ARE REALLY MELONS!
