Cedar does not kill chickens. As a breeder of rare chickens, I use and have used cedar shavings for many years and have never had a problem. My free range birds roost in aromatic red cedar trees within the fenced property and although I have heard the above answer many times I have yet to see any empirical evidence that the oils released from cedar shaving does anything but make the chicken coop smell fresh and sweet.
Pine or aspen. Do NOT use cedar.
No, cedar is dangerous for a hamster's health because the smell is strong and it is bad for their respiratory system. Hamsters and other small pets can become sick from cedar bedding.
you do not have to use a lot of bedding but you can use fluff and hay do not use newspaper or wood/cedar shavings
Hamsters can have only wood shaving bedding. This is because with paper bedding, they will eat it, store it in their cheeks and get an infection. While most wood shaving beddings are okay, you want to stay away from cedar bedding. Cedar bedding irritates the hamster's skin and causes hair loss. Aspen bedding is definitely safe for the hamster to use.
No, soft bedding should not be used! You should try carefresh. Never use cedar!
You should not use cat litter, pine shavings, or cedar shavings. It would be better and healthier to get a guinea pig a different bedding.
DO NOT USE PEBBLES!!!!!!!!!! Use newspaper or the bedding in pet stores for rodents. DO NOT USE PEBBLES!!!! THEY ARE A BIG NO-NO FOR RODENTS!!!!
No, rabbits should not eat cedar shavings. Cedar shavings can be toxic to rabbits when ingested, causing respiratory and digestive issues. It is best to use safe bedding options like aspen shavings or paper-based bedding for rabbits.
You should not use cedar shavings as nesting material. Although it smells great to us, it has fumes and dust that effect the rabbit's respiratory system and eyes.
You should never use cedar litter as bedding for any animal as the dust can cause all kinds of respiratory and skin problems.
Noooooooo its really bad it even say in books the pine and cedar are really bad it has poison to the hamsters lungs, if you want to be safe i suggest you get careFRESH which is soft and good absorbency and odor control or aspen but i suggest careFRESH
Always provide good nesting and laying boxes. If they continue to lay in strange places, it might take them awhile to figure out what the boxes are for. Try to set objects were they usually lay so they can't lay in that spot.
