A Belgian waffle is a type of waffle identified by its larger size, lighter batter and higher grid pattern which forms deep pockets and has larger squares. In Belgium, there are a number of different types of waffle, including the Brussels waffle, the Liège waffle and the stroopwafel; what is known in North America as a "Belgian waffle" is most similar to the Brussels waffle. As opposed to a traditional waffle, the Belgian waffle attributes its height to the use of yeast batter instead of a pancake batter. They are often eaten as a breakfast food. In North America, they are usually served with butter (or margarine) and maple syrup or with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit (such as strawberries) as a dessert.
Isnot and Willsnot likes Waffles! :D <3
No! Actually, Belgium waffles were a result of NASA's Voyager III program, when the Salarians made first contact. It was named the Belgium waffle because the Salarians actually have a city on their planet called Belgium, and the correlation seemed significant enough to warrant naming the waffles after it.

Their waffles, delicious!
Everywhere in Brussels you can buy waffles. They're called Gaufres Bruxelloises, which stands for Brussels' waffles. Another city in Belgium called Liège, is also famous for it's delicious waffles. They're called Gaufres Liègois, which stands for Liège's waffles. The difference between B waffles and L waffles is that the Brussels' waffles are much more crispier and less sweet. The Liège's waffles are soft and sugared.
it spread to belgium because Britain liked belgium waffles.
