No part of the potato plant should be consumed unless we are talking about the actual tubers. The Berries that sometimes grow from the flowers are highly toxic and have led to some domestic animal deaths, as they have an extremly high glycoalkaloid levels. These berries are usually reserved by the farmer as "seed" they are planted into a seed bed 3 - 4 weeks before the planting season and they then grow into a tuberlet. This tuberlet is then planted into the garden and produce the potatos. Do not eat any green potatos!
