Yes. One should start by taking a little bit of butter, put it on his/her plate, when it is passed to him/her. Do the same with the jelly/jam, when it is passed to you. Then, cut open your roll, spread the butter on it the butter that was on your plate. Do the same with the jelly/jam that was on your plate. When eating the roll, eat it however you like, but DO NOT: 1) Eat it in as few bites as possible. Instead, take small bites and take your time eating it. And/Or 2) get crumbs all over the tablecloth or in your lap. Instead, if it is a crumble-y roll, use your hand as a cup to prevent crumbs from going anywhere.
