However the discovery did not reach the public until after the end of the second world war due to wartime privations, arriving in US shops in 1947. Britain did not see the candy bar until later due to the existence of rationing into the 1950s. Additonally they were (are) not known as 'candy bars' in Britain, but rather 'Wonga Loads.'
