Probably, but at present we have no way to get out there. It may take tens of thousands of years to be able to get a camera out there, and then it would take another 10,000 years for the signal to get back to Earth.

It is confusing, knowing that we are in the Milky Way, and yet we can take pictures. Think of the Milky Way being a plate. Now imagine earth at the edge of that plate. Looking inward you can still see the majority of the plate, which is the portion of the Milky Way that we see. It's just that everything is so spread out in space that it looks like we are seeing all of it, when in actuality we're only looking at the bright center, and still missing out on the edge of the plate (Or in our case since out galaxy is categorized as a spiral galaxy, we are missing out on the "arms" of our galaxy)

They take pictures from within the galaxy in all directions and different angles and build up an overall image of what it should look like.
