I have never heard of spider's eating animal or human flesh. But it doesn't mean it can't happen. Spiders can attack and try to kill animals for defense. The only spiders capable of doing damage to humans are the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse. Spider mostly eat bugs and if they decide to step out of their comfort zone, maybe a mouse for dinner. Spider fangs are really small so they can't take a big chunk out of you.

Spiders can only eat animals with exoskeletons as they digest the flesh in situ and then suck it out of the body and the exoskeleton is needed to contain the liquified flesh. Spiders do have fangs but they are only used to penetrate and inject poisons, etc. When they bite humans or other mammals they are protecting themselves, not eating.
