Maybe cherries soaked in Rum? Madinade Cherry's in Rum. The longer the better. Takes time to make, but good to have on hand if you like it. I make a treat called Pudding Shots made with Cafe Patrone Tequlla at Fun Recipe Blog.com. Would make a great layer in a Black Frost cake too. Maybe soak a layer with a little Patron also.
