When I clean the tank i put really warm water back in, if you weren't told keeps ick and stress down when you do that, helps fish to heal quicker. I feed them every 3 to 4 days, less ammonia, cleaner tank, less water changes. I have well water, direct from tap. When testing perfect every time. Maybe it was the warm water I added that got them in the mood, try it.
