Fish have what looks like a line of dots running along their sides. In some species there is more than one line. This line is called a "Lateral Line". It contains pressur sensitive nerve endings. These act like our ears and pick up sound and other vibrations which are transfered to the fishes brain. The fish then reacts as required.
