There really isn't much that you can do. The babies will have to fend for themselves. If you have plants and such in the tank they may be able to hide, but a few will be found by hungry adult fish.

no because it an eat the babies for attention from the mama just keep him in a small extra cage until the babies are big enough
You can buy a small plastic tank that hangs on the inside edge of your big tank and put babies in that until they get larger. Or you can just buy another ,smaller, aquarium just for babies. Or, you can load up your aquarium with plants so the babies can hide. Not much else you can do. Sorry, missred the question. I find that when fry are large enough to swim like a normal fish, as opposed to bouncing along or swimming kind of erratic, that they are usually safe from the parents. Although keep an eye open. If a fish is small enough to eat with no trouble there's always a chance it will get eaten.
Go catch some fish
It is best to keep them separated for one month. After that month has gone by, compare the frys body size to the mom and dads mouth. If they are big enough you can release them into the aquarium. If not, keep them isolated for another month or so.
