The Bettas ova are kept in its bubble nest and so you will be unable to closely observe the ova as they develop. Once the fry are starting to break out of the nest you may be able to observe the tiny tummies of the fry these are what are called the "egg sacks". As these become absorbed the shape of the fish starts to become more obvious and then fry become free swimming and need to be separated from the male before he eats them.
