What food to give to a hermit crab?

Hermit Crab Food. You can buy it at pet stores. They also like fruits and veggies, in very tiny amounts (it goes bad quickly because they barely eat anything). I've also fed mine tropical fish food from time to time.

Hermit crabs are scavengers in the wild and will eat anything from fallen fruit, dead washed up fish, and climb trees to get bugs (purple pincher Caribbean hermit crab)

So in captivity it should eat fruit and veggies.

There are many things that you can feed your hermit crab such as apples bananas peaches leafy veggies mushrooms unsalted raw nuts. But whatever you do, NEVER feed them anything with salt or sodium in it. NEVER give them anything out of a can. Only raw washed fruits and veggies. Water is a problem in it too. NEVER give tap water to a hermit crab. There are solutions that you can buy to make tap water safe for your hermit crab to drink. You can use bottled water to mist your tank with. DO NOT spray your crabs. it will cause stress, that may lead to death. Hermit crabs also need a bowl of sea salt water to keep them healthy. You can buy a solution to make this too.

Well I happen to have 2 hermit crabs. When I first got them, they came with a little jar of hermit crab food. If your hermit crab didn't come with food, then you can usually get it at a pet store. And I also will feed my crabs bits of cooked meat, non-citrus fruits (extremley important not to give them citrus things) and lots of veggies. All served in little tiny bits. Also you can get this stuff called Calci-sand as a flooring substrate and they LOVE to eat it! So anyways I hope this helped you

You can feed your hermit crab a variety of foods, you can feed them Carrots, Crackers, Apples, Peanut Butter, Regular Store Bought Crab Food, Cucumbers, many fruits and vegtables.
