Fat belongs to all food groups. It is prevalent in the protein food group as well as fats, oils and sweets.

Food groups:

  1. Bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy foods
  2. Fruit and vegetables
  3. Milk and dairy foods
  4. Meat, fish, eggs, beans and other non-dairy sources of protein
  5. Foods and drinks high in fat and/or sugar (Usually proceed foods with added fat or sugar)

Fat is sometimes classified as a food group itself.

Fat provides energy and helps in building the body. It is found in animal products: Meat, diary, eggs and fish. And from vegetable products: beans, seeds. nuts
