What hamsters are the best to get?

I would say a syrian because they cannot escape easily and are by far the friendliest, however I recomend you reaserch the breeds online or buy a hamster book.

I have a had one Teddy Bear hamster and one Syrian. My Teddy Bear was great! They are such cutey pies and you just want to smooch them! My Syrian, unfortunately, got cancer at age 2. I honestly am a fan of Teddy Bears. But that is just my opinion. I would have to say dwarf hamsters. They are slightly more expensive than Syrian hamsters, but they are very sweet most of them time. When they are not being sweet though, they can be a little snippy... :/

Teddy bear! But hamster dont live very long, sometimes not more than 5 yrs. Teddy bears are very cute and fun!

Black Bear ones are cutter cuz they dont get as big and they are softer. and wayy cute : ) I've had two of them.

BEAR HAMSTERS all the way!!! i love them DONT get a dwarf hamster even thought they are small and cute they become evil! I have had around eight hamsters and they were all bear hamsters they are amazing and SOOOO cute!!!

It really just depends on your personality and how much time you are willing to put into it.

If you are a non-busy person with some time on your hands you might want to get a dwarf hamster due to there activity level.

If you are a busy person you might want to get a Syrian hamster.

Either way you have to interact with them for atleast 15 min each day!

Hamsters are a big responsibly like any other animal so you want to take into account there needs! Also remember that hamsters are nocturnal so they are up most of the night!

If your looking for a cute and kid friendly hamster the Chinese dwarf hamster is the best its easy to handle and it doesn't bite.

I recommend golden hamsters because they are very common for their personality and very kind. DON'T get a dwarf for they are very mean and small, not to mention VERY VERY fast!
