Maybe they came across skids of them in their warehouse. Personally, I'm torn. I miss that great taste but $4 for a 1 lb box is outrageous

Nowhere. Salerno stopped making them many years ago. I have found some people are confusing Nabisco's "Marshmallow Cookies" with the Hippodrome. Some are even saying Hippodromes never existed and were only called Marshmallow Cookies...NOT TRUE! I loved Hippodromes.
This is a matter of opinion, but personally, I would perfer cupcakes in less the cookies are all chocolate with mint chips. Than I perfer cookies.
