Because sperm travels well in water.
Water is one of the major ingredient of life. Thats why water cycle is important for living beings.
Fertilization in a fern's life cycle occurs when sperm from the male gametophyte fertilizes an egg in the female gametophyte, usually happening after the sperm swims to the egg in a film of water.
In mosses, sperm cells are transported to the archegonia by water. The sperm cells swim in a thin film of water towards the archegonia, where fertilization takes place. This method allows for the sperm cells to reach the egg cells for sexual reproduction to occur.
i want a condom
A condom does not make women infertile, on the contrary, if a condom breaks when you're in the middle of your orgasm, chances are, she's gonna get pregnant.
I dont know thats why i asked you gosh i wish someone could answer this
Bryophyte life cycles are highly dependent on water for reproduction, as they require water for sperm to swim to the egg. This is why bryophytes are usually found in moist environments.
A land plant that fits this description is a fern. Ferns have flagellated sperm that require water for fertilization, and their life cycle is characterized by a dominant sporophyte stage. During fertilization, the sperm swim through water to reach the eggs on the archegonia of the female gametophyte.
If sperm were to be put in a sperm bank the average life span of a sperm once ejaculated is 4 days however in some cases sperm has survived 6 days and was still able to fertilize an egg.
Yes, sperm can die when it is washed off hands due to exposure to soap, water, and temperature changes. Washed off sperm is not likely to survive, especially if it is not in a suitable environment to sustain life.
