Experimental Psychologists and behaviour specialists have done many experiments with training fish (Goldfish and other species) and getting them to learn and remember underwater mazes etc. They can also be trained to respond to certain stimulii in specific ways. The evidence is that "All fish have a need to remember many things in order to survive and all have evolved with the capacity to memorize what they need to when required." ENGLISH WOULD BE NICE RETARD
There have been a few studies on it, goldfish actually have a memory of about 3months. There have been a few studies on it, goldfish actually have a memory of about 3months.
I know as a fact (from a book) that a goldfish only has a three-second memory. So I never expect my goldfish to recognize me as their owner! =) Despite popular opinion that goldfish have no memory it has been show in many studies they do have long term memories. It is generally accepted be around two week but some studies have shown it to be up to 11 months.
I believe not. Unless scientists do some weird cloning thing, that's not possible. But I hope not. That would be really weird.
Yes, you can train goldfish. Goldfish are extremely intelligent animals and are able to learn a wide range of tricks! If you are thinking about training your goldfish you might want to look on you-tube and try to find a tutorial for training goldfish. It really annoys me that people say goldfish are unable to be trained because they have a memory of 5 minutes, when in actual fact, many goldfish have been trained and they have a memory of up to a week. so, if you keep repeating the trick every few days or so, then your goldfish will learn the trick. PS. i have two goldfish and they are both trained, they can: eat from my hand, keep a little plastic ball from sinking by bouncing it up with their heads, one of them can blink, and, they both beg for food. Good look training your goldfish, i hope it is a success!
yep
get a goldfish and test it out i have a gold fish it dosent really make a difference
Oscars eat goldfish. Therefore, does it really matter if Oscars are faster?
Well, i really dnt know
No not really
They will be really fat.
There is really no commensalism that takes place between goldfish and other creatures. Occasionally, goldfish will clean their homes by eating leftover food and waste products.
I really would not put the tadpoles in with the goldfish...the goldfish will most likely eat them all. It depends on the goldfish size, but eventually they will try to eat the tadpoles whether they suceed or not. :/
