Ancogrus
The tendrils at the end of a corn plant are called silk. Each silk represents a potential kernel of corn, as they are the female reproductive parts of the plant that catch the pollen from the tassels to produce the kernels.
In order to assist you more easily to eat your freshly boiled ear of corn, you can insert the prongs of a corn holder or corn fork into each end of the corn, forming handles for you to hold onto, so that you do not have to hold the kernels, which are hot, and which you are in any event intending to eat.
The End of an Ear was created in 1970-08.

Typically around July, the tassel on top of the corn plant fertilizes the silks (those stringy things when you husk sweet corn) on the ear of corn. After the pollen gets on the end of the silk, it travels down into the ear where it pollinates the kernel. Each kernel has its own silk. After fertilization, the ear starts forming. Pollination is dependent on when you plant and the temperature outside. So when you see the tassel at the top open up, the ear will start forming in the coming weeks.
The pointed end. Think of it as a triangle.
