chickens in some senses are quite intelligent and actually have a lot in common with house hold pets, for example I have a chicken living in my house (long story) she is aloud to roam around free if we are at home, she has learned there are places she is not aloud to go but if she is mad at us she will go into that area so she can get attention. they tend to have a weak spot when it comes to shiny things and if it is at all possible attempts to eat it( my chicken has ate a set of bells and half a drill bit). She also tries to take on our dogs. all in all I would have to say that considering the brain size of a chicken they do pretty good.
