a coconut grater is something you grate coconut on. Like grated cheese, except this is for grated coconut. The grater is different though, it's a little bench with a sharp saw like metal edge that protrudes out of the side of the bench so that you can cut a coconut in half, leave the hard shell on but remove the outter softer shell, then press against the grater with a up and down motion. The grated cocunut falls to the bowl you have placed underneath for that purpose.
