What type of fish get along with bettas?

Well with a male NOTHING! Well it depends on what the attitude of the male betta fish is. To be safe though do not put anthing with a male.

As for a female you can put a lot of fish. Here are just a few, Guppie, another female betta (up to 3)(not male) there are a lot of others I just can't think of them right now sorry!

Betta Fish CAN coexist with other fish. However, you'll need to pick your new fish carefully. Anything colorful with flashy fins will cause a problem. Typically you should add fish that are larger than the Betta. A list of friendly companions can be found below.

You'll also need adequate room for the fish. A single Betta should have a min of 3 gals. If you want to add companions the tank will need to be larger. You should also provide a lot of hiding spots and resting areas. Especially if you plan to house a male and female Betta together.

• African dwarf frog - A small species of frog that is roughly the same size as an adult male Betta.

• Snails - Most species of aquarium snails, are good Betta companions

• Tetras - A small school of Tetras work well with Betta.

• Plecos - Needs at least a 10-gallon tank

• Zebra danios - Like the tetras, these fish need to be bought in a small school.

• Pygmy Cory catfish - A small bottom dwelling catfish.

• Ghost Shrimp: Small translucent shrimp that help keep the tank clean.

If your getting a female Betta... You should buy fish that are not it's size but also not to small. A good thing to do is to use my method of introduction. Take the fish to the tank with the fish you would like to buy and then take them home. change 1 item in it's tank then put them in letting the bags soak. if you are getting a male Betta I think the guppy would work if you have a divider or 2 tanks and the 3d thing you can do is make a special spot for him or her.

I've got a beta male in my tank and he gets on with everything. Personally I wouldn't put any guppies in (no disrepect) they tend to make them aggressive. The only time I've ever seen my beta get aggressive is when the angel fish lay eggs up the pump near to where his patch is.

it Depends on tank size and if it’s larger than 7 gallons u could try put a couple small fish like neon tetras but not just one neon tetra or the betta fish my get aggrsive towards it if it’s a couple perhaps 4 the fish will get distracted and not target them they may still be aggressive though so when putting them together you are extremely carefulness allow them to adjust together well

Not other betta fish because they are aggressive and will hurt the other betta fish. Dont put smaller fish in with the betta fish because they will eat the smaller fish

Bettas will only fight other Bettas. They get along with (ignore) all other tropical species that need similar water conditions. pH around 6.8, temp around 78F, and medium to soft hardness.
