Well with a male NOTHING! Well it depends on what the attitude of the male betta fish is. To be safe though do not put anthing with a male.
As for a female you can put a lot of fish. Here are just a few, Guppie, another female betta (up to 3)(not male) there are a lot of others I just can't think of them right now sorry!
Bettas are known to be aggressive and may not get along with other fish in a community tank. It is best to keep them alone or with peaceful tank mates.
It is easier to say what fish Bettas do not get along with. The only fish a male Betta will not get along with is another male Betta. Bettas are slow moving peacefull fish and they get along OK with most species that are not too big (eg.some Cichlids) and are not known for fin nipping (eg. some Barbs).
well i dont. i have a betta and it killed two of my gold fish that i put in there so no sorry :(
I've always been told that bettas should live seperately which seem rediculous because they don't live like that in nature. Yes, bettas can live with other fish. Male bettas can get along with plecos, some tetras, mollies, guppies (not the fancy sort), etc. They should not be put with fish that have long fins, nor should they be kept with fish nippers (like barbs). Males can not live with other bettas though. Female bettas can live with other female bettas (as long as there are more than two females since they have a pecking order). Female bettas can live with the type of fish I described for the male, as well. Just be careful with tank mates, and have a back up plan if the fish do not get along. Make sure each fish has plenty of space and love, and you should be fine. -Raz
It is a misconception that betta fish do not get along with other fish. While intolerant to their own species, bettas can get along with other fish so long as they are not easy to mistake for another male betta - such as fancy guppies - or fin-nipping fish like many tetras that often go for long-finned fish. Female bettas can be housed with guppies, however.
pretty much any fish except their own kind, but don't mix them with fish that may nip their fins, such as tiger barbs.
Bettas will eat baby guppys as will most other fish, but in general, male Bettas will only fight with other male Bettas. They do not fight with other species of fish
No. Male Bettas only fight with other male Bettas.
bettas are very territorial fish, the males fight for their territiory.
No, it is generally not recommended to put other fish with bettas in the same tank as bettas are known to be aggressive towards other fish, especially those with long fins or bright colors. It is best to keep bettas in a tank by themselves.
bettas
Provided the tank is large enough to house them all (1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water) Guppies and Bettas should get along OK.
