Jews eat all kinds of desserts, although observant Jews limit themselves to things that are kosher. The big limit is, after eating a meal that contains meat or meat byproducts, observant Jews will not eat anything, including a dessert, that contains any dairy products. The required delay between a meat meal and a meal containing any dairy products varies. Dutch Jews have the shortest delay, an hour, while many Jews wait 6 hours.
