From the beginning, scavengers like Haikouichthys were the only fish-related life forms around (c. 530 million years ago). It then later moved up into more heavily armored fish (still jawless) like Cephalaspis. Much after that though, it bascially turned into the more familiar lobe-finned fish.

Fish and molluscs were the dominant creatures during the Devonian.
Fish first appeared in the Cambrian period, long before the Devonian.

Both insects and amphibians are thought to evolve during the Devonian Period. The earliest known insect, Rhyniognatha hirsti, is thought to have evolved from arthropod ancestors around 400 million years ago during the Emsian age of the Lower Devonian Epoch. The earliest known amphibian, Elginerpeton was thought to evolved from lung fish around 375 million years ago during the Frasnian age of the Upper Devonian. It is also thought to be the 1st tetrapod.
Well, the Devonian time period was the period of fish, some of the fish are Armed Placoderms (Dunkleosteous), that can grow up to 33 ft., Cartilaginous fish, that are now known as sharks and rays, Tiktaalik fish, that are similar to crocodiles, and Lungfish, that are the only fish to be able to breathe air.
