I'm supposing you have a good reason for sprinkling water on bread . . .

The condition of the bread will depend upon how moist the bread was to begin with and what was in the water. Adding water will increase the moisture. Too much will make it soggy.

Rhizopus grows best in warm and humid environments, with temperatures between 20-30°C. It also requires a substrate rich in organic matter, such as decaying plant material or soil, to provide nutrients for its growth. Adequate oxygen levels and slightly acidic conditions (pH 6-7) also support the growth of Rhizopus.
