When salt is added to onion cell, the cytoplasm shrink due to plasmolysis. When water is added to onion cell, the cytoplasm expands back to its initial shape due to deplasmolysis.
The main difference between chili and chowder is the base. The chili has a meat base where a chowder would have a milk or cream base. Some other differences would be that chowder is a thick soup with veggies and seafood and chili is a thick stew with meat and beans. Hope this helped : )
