You should schedule an appointment as soon as you find out. Sometimes it takes a while to get in to a doctor. Start shopping around with doctors. Make sure you feel 100% comfortable with your doctor and you are going to be comfortable and trust them when you are delivering. They will do the first prenatal checkup routine, take blood, ask you a bunch of questions and possibly, but not likely, have an ultrasound.
Yes but they first need to schedule it with the hospital.

The best time is 15 weeks but you can have your first baby scan even at 9 months. Nonetheless, the later, the more accurate it is. Your baby's gender won't get determined that soon though that's why I advise you to wait till it's the 15th week.
Usually a doctor wants to see you for the first ultrasound when you're appr. 10-13 weeks pregnant.
If you were pregnant the developing embryo would be about the size of the head of a pin. The embryo is not the first sign of pregnancy found on ultrasound; the yolk sac shows up long before the embryo is visible. The yolk sac can't be seen uon ultrasound until at least four weeks after the last period.
The ultrasound dating has excellent and precise estimation of gestation especially if done in the first trimester (first 12 weeks). After 12 weeks, its accuracy goes down. However, compared to dating according to menstrual cycle, the ultrasound would be more accurate.
Doctors consider the week of your last period to be the first week of pregnancy (even though you aren't even pregnant at that point)!
Hello, This would be my first month of pregnancy, but the severe pain on both sides of your lower abdomen really hurts. My doctor has advised me for an ultrasound. Is it safe to go for an ultrasound in the early stage of pregnancy?
You should schedule your first appointment with an OB between 6-10 weeks. after 4 weeks
Doctors measure pregnancy from the first day of your last period, but you don't conceive until two weeks after that. Your baby was conceived 3 weeks ago.
The ultrasound scanner was invented in the 1950s by Dr. Ian Donald and his team at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. They adapted technology originally developed during World War II for detecting underwater objects to create the first medical ultrasound machine. This breakthrough allowed doctors to visualize internal organs and monitor fetal development in a non-invasive way.
