When this question was originally asked, Peter Pan peanut butter was the subject of a recall, due to a salmonella outbreak that occurred in 2007 and was ultimately traced back to the company's plant in Sylvester, Georgia. This outbreak spread to 44 states and resulted in Peter Pan being removed from the shelves for a prolonged period of time.
