Where to buy ready to roll icing?

Ready to roll icing, also known as fondant, is fairly easy to make. Mix in a bowl, one third cup of butter, one third cup of light corn syrup, one teaspoon of vanilla, one half teaspoon of salt until smooth. Next, mix in one pound of sifted powdered sugar. The fondant is now ready to roll. To change the color, add small amounts of food coloring. To change the flavor, replace the vanilla with other flavored extracts.

If you want a light colour, go for a couple of drops of food coloring into the icing and knead in. If you want a vibrant colour, try food coloring in a gel or paste and knead in. Don't add water to it because that will make is sticky and very hard to work with. The warmth from your hands should make it easy to work with.

• 4 tablespoons butter
• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 to 6 tablespoons hot water
