It's because they don't really like being kept in cages so their happy they've finally escaped then they get comfy wherever they are then you go and find them and they get stuck back in their cage so they get a bit cranky. My old hamster escaped once and went under the kitchen cuboard and we found him and whenever we put him in the ball after that he went back to the kitchen cuboard:)<3 hope this helped i no you posted this a year ago but better late than never:) and no offence to the person that answered before but its not because they ate something bad, they wouldn't notice if they were being told off and you cant really cuddle them:)<3
They can be at times. My sister's hamster got really cranky when she got pregnant, she would bite more, demand more food, stuff like that.
I wouldn't really say they are cranky. There are just being protective over their babies. Like when you put your hand down to pet her, they often sometimes bite back or run away.
Only like 3 to 5 days because hamsters are really small animals and easy food to bigger animals. It also depends where it is lost. If it's lost in a garden then it won't last as long as if it's in the kitchen because it can find food. Hopefully you can find it.
he started feeling cranky he lost weight and he wasn't himself mom took him to the hospital and found out he had juvenile diabetes
Keep your head out of it.
Ha ha. You'll never find out. (rubs hands in evil fashion) - The Cranky Product Manager www.crankypm.com
Well, this is how I would find them. You get some peanut butter and get some all over your hand and wave your hands everywhere in the living room and they could MAYBE come out. They have a good sense of smell you know. I hoped I helped you and if not I'm sorry.
in the crack off your chowch
You find out in some way why she is cranky and try to calm her down. If that doesn't work give her a few days to cool down and then check on her.
