Yes they do, it could almost be considered a "staple" in any Dutch household.

there are many different varieties, from very young to the more robust flavours, it is eaten in the morning with a bun, or at lunch, where a couple of slices of Gouda or Edam would not go amiss! yum!! The Dutch eat so much of it that they are nicknamed "kaaskoppen" (cheeseheads) by their Belgian (Flemish) neighbors and others, perhaps on account of their predominantly fair (blond) hair whose color corresponds to that of most cheeses, i.e. yellow. Cheese is often eaten with a dollop of mustard, the spiciest variety being Zaanse Mosterd.
