Unicorns eat lobster above all other sea-faring creatures because of the lobster's high level of glandophlybins (GPB). GPB is broken down in the unicorn's liver to generate the energy necessary for flight. GPB-deficient unicorns may still be capable of flight; however, their endurance and ability to fire laser blasts from the tips of their horns will be impaired.

Despite popular mythology, unicorns do not eat lobster as an act of retribution for the little red beast's part in the Great Lobster War. The unicorn evolved to favor the lobster for nutrition.
