If you have not recently changed the water in your tank, then you should do that immediately. Make sure the new water is the same temperature as the old water, and that you use the recommended dosage of water conditioner per the instructions on the bottle.
If you have a very small tank, then you may need to change 100% of the water; if you have a 10 gallon or larger, change at least 75% of the water.
