They go on it because it is the fate of their life. They are born to travel to the ocean and then come back lay their eggs and die. Them dieing supports many species and the forest its self. It is a very interesting story. Check this page out http://www.squidoo.com/TheSalmonRun

The fish that swims against the flow of water is called a salmon. They migrate upstream to spawn and their ability to swim against strong currents is due to their strong muscular bodies and specialized physiology.
Swimming upstream is to do something the hard way. It is more difficult to swim against the current. Salmon swim upstream in order to spawn.
Salmon swim in the sea. Salmon are fish. Fish love water. The sea is water. Thus, salmon swim in the sea. Voila!
Yes.
swim against the current

you swim sideways to escape the current. NEVER SWIM AGAINST IT!!! you will get tired and lose the will to swim.Swim on an angle to the beach
jump in the ocean and find out
They swim.
Im going to try to answer this, I think its hard because when your going down current you are moving the same way as the current. If you go against it the water pushes on you making it harder to get foward. If the current is going 5 miles an hour and you swim with the current you will have 5 mph added to your speed. If you swim against it 5 mph is deducted. Hope i answered it correctly
