Many large vehicles drag a chain to keep static electricity from building up on the vehicle. The friction of the tires against the road can result in a static charge (much like rubbing a rubber balloon on something), and a spark jumping from the body of the vehicle to the ground could serve as an ignition source.
For obvious reasons, this is particularly bad if the vehicle is loaded with something that's highly flammable.
The chain is to provide a path back to ground, to keep any charge from building up.
it depends on the tanker but usually about 9300 gallons
I believe it is an office desk that weights a lot. Usually of metal. Made in the USA.
Large tankers usually have a service speed of around 12-13 knots
the length ot the truck depends on the length of the trator and the lengthof the trailer usually tho the tanker trailer is 48 feet, and a tractor is about 20 to 25 feet so average length is usually about 70 feet
They are usually described by their volume capacity, it also depends on the size of the tanker. large ones can weigh about, 5000 to 9000 US gallons, and smaller ones are typically less than 3000.
Hazmat haulers do. A food grade tanker, dry bulk tanker, water tanker, etc. would not.
Normally a Tanker carries some liquid, mostly Oil, therefore the term "Oil Tanker".
A super-tanker is a big tank.
Vandal - tanker - ended in 1913.
Yes you do
The capacity of a tanker ship can vary significantly depending on its size and design. A typical crude oil tanker can hold anywhere from 500,000 to over 2 million barrels of oil. For example, very large crude carriers (VLCCs) usually have capacities around 1.9 million barrels. Smaller tanker ships, like Aframax or Suezmax, generally hold between 500,000 and 1 million barrels.
British Tanker Company was created in 1915.
