I think it's because the teachers don't like the sound of gum cracking.
Teachers don't like that, I can tell you. It's also disturbing to the other classmates when you're chewing with your mouth open, because you normally spit on someone else's face when you talk to them.
nothing is wrong with chewing gum in class it concentrates and helps you in the MSP
Uh, if it's allowed....sure why not? Doesn't have any downside, other than a worn-out jaw.
Yes, gum chewing helps you stay wake and alert at times in class.

Chewing Gum. Chewing Gum. Chewing Gum.

Chewing gum in class may violate a school rule. If the school doesn't forbid it, an individual teacher might. Even where gum is permittrd, most likely it won't be allowed in Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Foreign Language and any Science classes with labs.
they are blowing bubbles
No. As a teacher I hate gum chewing in class. The one thing that bothers me is when students pop gum and play with it. If someone sits quietly chewing that is a bit different, but I ask students to throw gum out as a matter of course. People also don't seem to throw it away properly, but it is all over the floors and on furniture and that is gross.
Yes because it sticks to every thing
The first chewing gum was whale blubber.
