For some reason, when bananas and other fruit (specifically apples) are settled together, the combination causes the bananas to ripen (and then OVER ripen) in a matter of a few hours.
I am not sure why this is, just that it happens.
Because bananas (and many fruits) are often gassed with ethylene gas to speed ripening.
They can if -the bananas are already ripe, andthe bananas are placed in the immediate vicinity to the other fruit (such as in a fruit bowl)This is because bananas give off ethylene gas which makes fruit ripen faster. Some companies that artificially grow fruit use ethylene gas to ripen their fruit faster (although this gas is concentrated, not from growing bananas with other fruit)
Bananas are technically berries. Not many people realise that.I like bananas a lot.He put sliced bananas into the fruit salad.
Bananas are not berries, but both bananas and berries are fruit.
Bananas do not eat fruit.
It depends on the variety of fruit, their age when placed on the table and the conditions in the room. Normally, I would expect the bananas to go bad first. A bunch of bananas would all ripen and over-ripen at the same pace. Some of the oranges may develop mold, but not usually all at the same time.

Janie has 4 pieces of fruit, and 2 of them are bananas. The fraction of fruit that are bananas can be expressed as 2/4, which simplifies to 1/2. Thus, both 2/4 and 1/2 represent the fraction of fruit that are bananas.
