i believe i am , every time i eat chocolate i get hives .i know its the chocolate I've gone to the doctor and had it checked out they gave me a self test by letting me eat chocolate and shure enough i ended up with hives and rashes all over my arms neck and face. it stinks because chocolate is so delicious and to not be able to eat it sucks big time.

Yes they can be, but it is extremely rare. Usually, the allergy is related to an ingredient in the chocolate, such as milk, nuts, corn (high fructose corn syrup), rather than the chocolate itself. Also, chocolate contains a very small amount of caffeine so someone who is extremely sensitive to caffeine may have a reaction.

Actually yes, all humans are allergic to chocolate. Not all Allergies would cause someone to fall over and die right? Your allergic reaction to eating chocolate is you get really thirsty. Ever notice that?

Never ever eat chocolate if you are allergic to it. Unless a doctor comes up with a cure and the government approves it and you take it then eat chocolate.

You might be able to eat artificial chocolate that contains no cocoa in it. It would contain carob or something else. However, you should keep your emergency treatment handy in case you are allergic to that too.

It would probably be best to avoid chocolate (espeically milk / semi-sweet chocolates) until you are cleared by a doctor to eat the chocolate.
