Yes, most slot machines have little computers that are "editable" to change win rates and payouts.

Normally, games are set once and that's it. Unless the game theme or denomination is being changed, it's not normal to change the configuration.

Of course they are. Modern slot machines can be set any way the owner wants them unless there are laws regulating pay back percentages. If state law says that payback has to be 95%, the machine can be set to pay back 95.1%. No. They are set at specific payout percentages. If a slot machine were "rigged", it would pay much lower or much more than allowed. There have been instances of this happening, but I've not heard of one for over a decade. Payout percentages for each slot machine must be within that jurisdiction's (State or Tribal) allowable limits. If by odds you mean the amount paid per winning combination and coins played, then yes, they are posted on the slot machine itself, how else would you know what you have won?

No they do not, the manufacturer or distributor of the machine provides it to the casino in exchange for a cut of the take from it, which is CONSIDERABLY higher than if they were to sell it to them instead. Business is Business.
