But if one of the players holds a higher card of the same suit like Ace of hearts for example, that player would win because he would hold the highest flush possible. However if there was another player that had 7 and 8 of hearts he would win instead because he's got a straight flush - the best possible hole cards in this situation. Long story short, if community cards reveal a flush, players split the pot if none of them can improve that flush with their own hole cards.
