Buy a modest house in the country, get a decent used truck, start my own small business and devote it and all the rest of the money to helping to house the homeless, especially the younger and older...the most vulnerable of all the homeless in our society, and hope others would join me in the cause, because they're people just like everybody else, with their own stories, their own dreams, their own reasons for being homeless. They're NOT out on the streets just because they decided one day that it was a glamorous life!

i'd buy a decent new car and travel to a different state to start a small buisness. with a high amount of money, a small buisness wouldn't spend all of it, so, charity's are very necessary and i'd use about $500 on that leaving me with still a large amount of money. by now, money will start coming in from my small buisness. and i'm left with the same amount I started with. college funds are definitely something i would invest in. if i have not finished college, pay off student debt/drop out because I have my own buisness so i don't need to apply anywhere. with money still coming in from my small buisness. i am left with a steady balanced amount of money. I'd like to save that extra lottery money for when i have children and i family. and still have profits from my small buisness for everyday spending. this way, i can travel without worrying about prices, eat wherever i want, buy whatever i neeed, donate for good causes, and have money for family.

Assuming it is 1 million dollars or more, I will buy shoes that I want because I've really wanted them, I'm too young to drive so I don't want a car. I will buy the latest Apple products. I, of course, won't tell anyone about the money except my family because I for sure know they love me and wouldn't want my money more than me. Assuming now that I have still about 940,000 dollars, I will buy a 1000 lottery tickets for a lottery with a higher prize, I will basically try to dominate the ticket buying so that I have a higher chance to get more money. Then I will donate at least 100,000 to charity. I would also start a business or entrepreneurship so I can earn more money. I will also buy a mansion and invite all my family to live in it, the mansion will be in a place where it is close to other things but the surroundings are calm. The rest I will save, assuming over 500,000 is still left. I will perhaps try to get more money by rigging the lottery by buying all the tickets. I will buy all my family members very good stuff that they want or I want to gift them, and I know they wont take advantage of me because I have already known them for a long time and can trust them. The rest is history...

If I won the lottery, I would give almost everything I own to the needy. I then would buy a yacht big enough to travel around the world to some of the most sought after ports of call. After traveling for five years I would pick the most beautiful and interesting place I've been too and settle down and buy a place on the water. From there I would travel to places around the world where modern medicine doesn't exist and open small emergency clinic's so the people who live in those areas have a place in their communities to get help in emergency situations.

Attached to the ER will be an emergency vehicle capable of transport. Part of the emergency clinic will have educational classes on CPR and First Aide. Paramedics will man the clinic 24/7 along with a Doctor and nurses who are trained to work in the clinic. I would ensure that there's air transport available for serious injuries to be flown to the nearest Hospital. I believe it would be extremely helpful to those people who don't have access to life saving treatment. I was a Paramedic for 20 years and I couldn't get enough of helping others in times of need.

Laying it forward would be exciting.

I would buy a bigger house (not too big though) and buy a couple horses. And make my best friend live with me:) (literally tell her “hey I got a big enough house a couple horse. Come your living with me know, you dont even have to pay rent”

But yes if i were to win a lottery probably the first thing i would do would be to buy myself a nice car and a nice house. Nothing too fancy but just good enough. The second smartest thing would be to start looking at investment opportunities. That's probably once the excitement and happiness of actually winning the lottery dies down a bit lol. And third which should be for everyone is contribution towards charity. You always get more than you give!

Already planned out! First, I'd pay off my student loans! That takes care of over $100,000.00, so I hope the lottery winnings were mucho. Next I would buy a condo in Chicago, IL, preferably with a lake or city view. Next, I would get my friend a new water heater and a new furnace. It's nuts that she is having to live without hot water and without heat during the winter, but she can't afford to get them fixed. Next, I'd help out my brothers, who, like me, were laid off and are getting age discrimination when looking for a job. My graphic designer brother is working as a cashier at Jewel food store. What a waste of talent! I'd also purchase grave stones for my ancestors who don't have one and place death dates on the ones that are missing this information (I'm a genealogist, can ya tell?). Then, I'd close up the apartment (having paid months of rent in advance) and take to the road to get genealogical stories relating to my ancestors! I'd probably purchase (or rent?) an RV for this trip. Finally, I'd open a quilt shop and purchase a long-arm quilting machine. I'd just live on the rest of the money, spending on friends in need or whatever else comes up.

Every time I see someone undertake this very question I find myself disappointed. I would use the money for something that's actually fruitful, first I'd of course build it into a steady revenue stream, and then I'd use the excess profit to pay for scientific studies, y'know the kind that everyone is too much of a coward too dedicate themselves too.
