It depends on which version you are playing if heart gold/ soulsilver then you can have it at the front of your party, win alot of battles together use items on the Pokemon, get a man to give it a haircut in Goldenrod city and to get Dasiy Oak in pallet town to massage your Pokemon from 3-4 pm If its another version one of the most helpful is just to have it in your party

First of all, to get a Pokemon to like you, you need to walk a lot. (The obvious techniques) A Pokemon needs roughly 150 happiness to evolve.

1. When a Pokemon levels up, it gains two happiness. +2

2. When you walk 256 steps, a pokemmon gains one happiness. + 1

3. When you give your Pokemon a potion, it gains one happiness. + 1

4. When you feed your Pokemon vitamins, it gains one happiness. + 2

P.S. You could give it happiness raising berries, but that is not recommended.

*Here are the ways that increase friendship and raise happiness:

- Having the Pokemon in your party

- Giving it vitamins

- Giving it a massage in Pallet Town, Veilstone City, or Ribbon Syndacite

- If you have/or captured the Pokemon in a Luxury Ball, the increase of friendship/happiness is much larger than a normal Poke Ball

*These are the things/actions that will cause your Pokemon to dislike you, lower it's happiness:

- Feeding it bitter food

- Letting it faint continuously in a battle

*Tip:

If you have an item called; Soothe Bell, it will gain the happiness/friendship of that single Pokemon that is holding it.^_~
