There are several shuttles that run from John Wayne Airport to Disneyland.
It takes about 60 - 75 min by the coach service from the airport to the Disney park. The journey is only 32 KM, but the traffic can be bad.
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can use their free shuttle service (Disney's Magical Express) to travel between the resort and the airport. Mears Transportation also offers shared shuttle service to Downtown Disney area hotels, and private chartered sedans, vans, and buses to Walt Disney World resorts.
The Two closest Airports are Long Beach Airport and John Wayne Airport, both about 14 miles away. John Wayne Airport (also known as Orange County or Santa Ana/SNA) is a large airport (second busiest in the Los Angeles Basin) with many flights and choices, plus has a nice layout, though the airport is expanding and there is some construction issues. Long Beach Airport is 14 miles west of Disneyland. It is one of the slowest airports, and only a few airlines land there (Jet Blue is the main one). The road that connects the two (Ball Road/Wardlow) goes from the corner of Disneyland to the front of the Terminal. Then the next two are LAX at 33 miles, and then Ontario Airport at 35 miles. Some folks also use Bob Hope (Burbank/BUR), which is about 40 miles away. However, if you are using a private aircraft, Fullerton Municipal Airport (FUL) is actually the closest airport from Disneyland. It is significantly less expensive to land at Fullerton than John Wayne Airport and much easier (no landing fees, crowds, etc.) Fullerton Airport is only 6 miles away from Disneyland, and offers Taxi cabs and rental cars.
If you are going to Disney World you should fly to Orlando International Airport. If you are staying in a Disney hotel they have free transportation to and from the airport. You have to make reservations in advance but you don't have to get your luggage and it is brought to your room. On the way home you don't have to check your bags when your get off the bus your bags are taken and checked for you. Orlando International is the closest its about 30 minutes away.

These airlines include United, Delta, US Airways, JetBlue, Southwest, Alaska Airlines, AirTran, and Virgin Atlantic. Some other baggage shipping services are LugLess, Luggage Forward, Luggage Free, and ZoomLuggage.
It all really depends on demand, at this current moment, when american is re-structuring itself it wouldn't seem faceable, but nothing is impossible in the airline world. Besides, it wouldn't be necessary for American to do a service from this airport as it highly cooperates and shares a transatlantic alliance with British Airways, so people from Glasgow can connect at London (LHR) to all British Airways and American Airlines destinations rapidly and easily.

As with many airports, there are jobs directly related to the airlines. Customer service agents and luggage transporters work for airlines that service the airport. There are jobs with restaurants inside of the airport and the government has jobs through the Transportation Security Administration.

It's not one of the best but it's still a good service. The prices are more reasonable than other airlines but with less accommodations. The baggage fees are less than others so you can save some money there.
