Yes, they are so close, even today. The two them have said they get together all the time, and there are tons of pictures of the two together even this year, 2014. Billie has said she has a really close brother/sister relationship with David. Billie said this year that her son calls David "Doctor" when they met up together. Billie also gets along very well with Georgia Moffet, whose David's wife. David said once in 2011 after he was married, that he loves Billie dearly and always wants her for his own to Billie's ex-husband, Chris Evans. In the 2013 issue of Doctor Who magazine, when David Tennant and Billie Piper returned, the magazine stated, Billie and David were constantly laughing and hugging on set, David even said "I see Billie all the time.". Personally, I believe the two of them are as close as you can get before being in an intimate relationship. They are true best friends, both of them have said.
