It use to be young teensthat wanted to be just like their favorite actor, dancer, sports figure, but years ago this started after puberty and not before. Not true today. Children as young as 6 up are trying to immulate a famous singer or actor and some mothers allow it. Yes, more times than not. Young people often look up to role models and sometimes they aren't the best. Britney Spears was one (dressed very sexy) and I couldn't believe my eyes that some mothers thought it was quite cute that their very young daughters immulated her. She wasn't the best role model. There is more to the clothes the celebrity wears, but how they act and if they act out of sorts, get into sexual situations, etc., then expect the child-like personality to do so such as children who don't know any better. Paris Hilton is another bad example. Spoiled, use to being wealthy and getting her own way and thinking she can break the law is NOT a good role model. It amazes me where she even appeared from ... one day she was just rubbing shoulders with actors. It's best to teach your children that they should be individuals and not try to be someone else. They are healthier growing up. There simply aren't many good role models out there today.
